What are heat pumps?
The main advantage of heat pumps are that they can both heat and cool your home. Quiet, precise, and consistent, heat pumps offer reliable comfort and improved energy efficiency. In fact, by moving heat rather than generating it, heat pumps operate at a quarter of the cost of traditional systems.
The most common style of heat pump is a split system. In a heat pump, there is no combustion process, so there are no flames, hot surfaces, smoke, or unwanted fumes. Because heat pumps use only minimal energy to transfer heat, if you heat with electricity, a heat pump has the potential of reducing electricity usage by as much as 30% to 40%.
Practical, rewarding and clean, electric heat pumps don’t pollute the environment, add value to your home, and don’t overly dry air when heating. During summer, when used as an air conditioner, the heat pump will automatically dehumidify air. Since air is filtered as it is circulated, heat pumps remove dust, mold spores, odors and other allergens, making them ideal for sufferers of asthma or allergies.
